Literally…do you see me roar? Top left. That’s me roaring. I’m roaring while wearing a cheetah print tank styled with grey animal print jeggings. I was little hesitant doing animal on animal, but sometimes you just need to embrace it and go full throttle. ROAR.

I love a good skinny as much as the next gal, but for those that have been cursing them…I’m predicting that flare, bell-bottom jeans are making a comeback. Hallelujah! I rocked this look recently and totally felt hippie chic. Not really in a flower girl kinda way with spectacles and peace signs, but more of a modern girl kinda way with confidence and sass.
Deets: Gap flare jeans | DVF flower top | Aldo wide brown belt | jade pendant necklace
Not sure where Twofer Tuesdays started, but I first heard the term from my friend’s mom Shelly, who’s always on the hunt for a good bargain. It’s a nicer, more suave way of saying BOGO. You’re probably wondering where I’m going with this…Well, today is your lucky day because you’re getting a Two-fer with this post: 1 skirt, 2 ways. Enjoy!
Deets: 5/48 pink maxi skirt (Off 5th) styled 2 ways…1) Tribal vibe with lots of bangles 2) Feminine and flirty with a chunky pink H&M necklace and Caslon top
There’s a reason why I explicitly say in my bio that this is NOT a DIY blog. Here’s the perfect case in point. This weekend I was at H&M and got super excited when I noticed they were selling a sock bun contraption, but a sleeker version. For $3.95, I feel like I couldn’t go wrong. If it worked great, if not…no biggie. I get home and look online for the famous sock bun tutorial. I was inspired my one of my co-workers who starting sporting this hairstyle a few weeks back. Anyway, suffice to say, I think I was a good student. I watched the video and tried to repeat, but alas, all I ended up with was a crooked tangled mess. Looked more like a deformed spider web than a sock bun. I think it has something to do with my Asian hair. It’s too heavy, so doesn’t really hold any style that long. Apparently, it works best if your hair is greasy or teased, but haven’t been brave enough to try the ole sock bun again. Maybe in a few weeks. Got any tips for me?

Here’s what it should really look like:
Bra. Of all things, that’s what I forgot the other day. It wasn’t my house keys, my bus pass, my lunch. It was my freakin bra. How does this happen, you ask? Good question. I was having one of those mornings where I tried on a million outfits, but I wasn’t feeling any of them. I looked up at the clock and realized I was going to be late to my morning meeting. In a panic, I decided the tight snake skin stretchy shirt looked fine on me and zoomed out the door. Half way between work and home and halfway sandwiched between 2 sweaty men on the Muni, I reached underneath by trench and realized I had forgotten an essential undergarment. I could stop here and tell a joke: You know you’re flat as a pancake when…Anyway, at that point, it was too late to go home, so I just had to deal. BTW- Walgreens only sells emergency underwear and NOT bras. It was 80 degrees and hot as hell that day, but I kept my cardigan on the whole day with my arms crossed firmly against my chest. Oiy vay! I shared mine, now what’s yours? Any embarrassing moments that can top this? I’m all ears!
(I’m a bit of a prude, so I’m not going to show you what my bra collection looks like. I still feel like this post needs a visual, so here’s a shot from Jean Paul Gaultier’s De Young exhibit…bra peaking out of luggage chest. )
I’m always sad when it feels like summer is coming to an end. I kind of feel it right about now. You start to see the backpacks, pencils, and folders piled high at Target. I’ve been out of school for a while now, but these are the signs that fall is right around the corner. I have nothing against fall… I love a good pumpkin pie…but summer is happy time. Sun in the fun, smiles, ice cream. In honor of my favorite season of the year, I’m going to try to squeeze in as many summer outfits as I can between now and when it gets too cold to wear ’em anymore. Here’s one of them:
Bloomingdale’s Aqua Maxi Dress | H&M hat | Michael Kors sandals
I’ve always had a thing for pinstripes because they’re casual, but formal at the same time. Perfect for the office environment, but not too stuffy! Elegant, classy, and cool.
Can you tell that I have writer’s block today? 🙂
P.S. Ouch, pinstripes hurtin’ my eyes.

Oh, no you didn’t! Oh, yes I did. I’m flashing my whites after Labor Day. Gasp!
I did a bit of research to get to the bottom of why you’re not supposed to wear white after Labor Day. After pouring over site after site, I came to the conclusion that it’s dumb. The only reason that made a bit of sense was that white clothes would get dirty due to the elements (rain, snow, mud, etc.). This is true, but since I live in SF and our Indian Summers usually start in August and end in October…I have a few months before the bad weather kick in. So, I’m going to continue to strut my whites and love every moment of it.
